Carlos Alberto Bernaldez Perez a product of Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico was an assistant coach to the Mexican Women’s National Team, participating in multiple World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) sanctioned events, prior given the opportunity to lead Mexico in the international arena in 2013, when he guided the program to 6th place finish at the Pan American Games in Puerto Rico.
He has lead Mexico Softball at all USA World Cup of Softball since 2015. Under his guidance in 2016 Mexico saw a 5th place finish, best result ever for Mexico at the WBSC World Championship that hosted 32 nations.
At the Pan American Games qualifying event in 2017 in Dominican Republic, Mexico was able to beat regional power houses USA & Canada, earning the silver medal at that event earning the country an entry for the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.
In the last WBSC 2018 World Championship in Chiba, Japan, Mexico was able to finish in 6th place and the country currently ranks in 5th place at the WBSC world rankings, the best ranking ever for the country.
Under his guidance Mexico earned a silver medal at the 2018 Central American and the Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia.
He also has experience coaching in Mexican national tournaments wining the gold medal at the Mexican National Olympic Junior’s event in 2013. In addition to state championship performances for the 22 & 25 and under división, as well as National Champion in the 25 and under national tournament celebrated in Hermosillo, Sonora.
